ABOUT US(SWA)

The Students’ Welfare Association (SWA) of Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology has undergone a transformative journey since its inception. This report aims to trace the evolution of the SWA, highlighting key milestones, challenges faced and the overall impact on the student community.

The present portfolios with the in-charge of the SWA include Mr. Debargho Ganguli (General Secretary), Mr. Gourav Shukla (President), Mr. Anirban Guha (Vice-President), Mr. Sujan Ghosh (Assistant General Secretary), Mr. Rohan Kalwar (Treasurer), Mr. Sk. Abul Aman (Cultural Secretary), Mr. Soumyadip Dhara (Games Secretary) and Ms. Arpita Mahata (Public Relations Lead).

Over the years, the SWA has expanded its services and activities. Noticeable growth in student participation in SWA activities is seen, indicating a positive reception from the student body. One of the most noteworthy accomplishment include the formation of clubs namely Bytemonk (Tech Club), Spartans (Sports Club), Harmonica (Music Club), Revolution D (Dance Club), Astronomy club, Kothopokothon (Drama Club), Literature Club, Quizzard (Quiz Club), Robotics Club, Fashionista (Fashion Club) and Photography Club. The clubs are active throughout the year producing fruitful results for the collegiates.

The SWA in general have emerged as one of the unifying factors for the establishment of college among the other different colleges. At times, the SWA collaborates with other organizations to broaden students’ horizons and cater to the evolving needs of dynamic pupils. Consistent positive feedback from students is indicative of satisfaction with the SWA’s contributions to the college experience. The SWA is thus instrumental in enhancing the overall student experience by providing a range of support services, fostering a sense of community and advocating for students’ interests.

All in all, the Students’ Welfare Association at Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology has evolved from a nascent initiative to a pivotal force in shaping the student experience. Despite challenges, the association has consistently worked towards enhancing student welfare and fostering a supportive college environment, thus contributing to the well-being and development of the student body. The journey so far serves as a foundation for continued growth and positive impact in the further years to come as well.
